First time seeing Fear Factory and they were quite amazing to be honest. Cross and I met with Burton on the tour bus for the interview and he was a very personable, pleasant guy. It was probably one of my favorite interviews we’ve done so far.
As for the actual first 3 songs – strobes wreaked havoc as per usual and I struggled to get shots in-between flashes. I forget just how large the Palladium’s stage is and the monitors don’t block the view for photos so if you get just the right angle, the stage can look eerily empty.
Specs: I stuck to AV mode for this shoot because of the strobes and stage smoke. This particular shot was taken at f/2.8 at 1/50 ISO 1600.
I think my next Palladium downstairs shoot I should try out my 50mm and see if that handles better for the sheer size of the stage. The last time I used my 50mm was at the Brand New and Glassjaw show and it worked out pretty well. I think the f/1.8 would benefit a Palladium shoot.
